😎 5% in Q1 for EFC investors, new domain marketplace, accidentally getting rich, and give me back my ape.
Hi there 👋,
Is there anyone here who bought a one word domain in the 90s and never sold it?
(hit reply and tell us about it).
OG web domain purchasers are probably pretty rare, but we stumbled across this amusing page yesterday.
Don’t bother asking because the domain is not for sale.

Have you seen the latest update from Empire Flippers Capital?
It’s been a year since Empire Flippers Capital (EFC) Round 1 began, and those deals performed even better than expected.
Investors received a 5% cash on cash return in Q1 2022, and net income across all sites is up 22% since acquisition.
Now, the third EFC Round is open for investment.
In 2021, EFC raised $13MM across 8 website operators in Amazon FBA, KDP, and content monetization.
Round 3 opened last week and already has over $2MM in funding.
We’re advised that the current round is set to close on March 31st (or earlier) as the deals fill up.
If a passive investment is your style, then EFC provided a super-short Investor Form for you to express your interest and get your questions answered.

The Psychology of Accidentally Getting Rich
The inimitable Jack Raines begins a recent article with an entertaining story about his first casino experience.
He argues that Being Right for the Wrong Reasons might be lucrative in the short term, but destructive in the long term.
Over the past two years, the market has been rife with examples of novice investors who became millionaires after a few savvy bets.
Raines looks at Bitcoin, growth stocks and Tesla, and asks “why were these investors right?”
I Want My Ape Back
From a report by Matt Levine:
Here is a lawsuit in which a guy (the plaintiff, Timothy McKimmy) is suing a non-fungible token exchange (the defendant, OpenSea) for allegedly negligently causing him to lose his NFT in the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection.
He would like his ape back.
Outside authorities - OpenSea and other centralized intermediaries, but also U.S. federal courts - can decide who owns an NFT, even if the blockchain says something different.
For most practical purposes, what the outside authorities say about ownership matters more than what the blockchain says.
